• Conditions of hire

Full week hires commence on either a Monday or a Friday, a midweek hire commences on a Monday and a weekend hire commences on a Friday. Houseboats are available from 3pm on the first day of the hire and the boats must be vacated by 10am on the last day.

Conditions of Hire

1. The current prices are subject to change.
2. After a reservation deposit is paid the price quoted will not change.

Payments & Security Bonds

1. Booking fees are payable within 7 days of making a booking.
2. We require up to half of the hire fee to be paid 12 weeks prior to arrival with the balance of the hire fee to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival.   Non payment by these dates will be taken as a cancellation and the conditions detailed under the “Cancellations” section of these conditions of hire will apply.
3. A Bond of $800 is payable for our Deluxe houseboats. This bond is in addition to the hire charge and will be refunded less fuel charges within 7 days of the boat being returned in good clean condition.
4. A Bond of $1000 is payable for our Deluxe houseboats on hires for seven (7) nights or more.
5. Bonds payable on hires for our Deluxe houseboats or for hires of seven (7) nights or more must be guaranteed by a credit card.
6. Single sex groups will incur a higher bond which will be determined by the owners.
7. Groups where some or all of the occupants on the boat are under the age of 30 may incur a higher security bond which will be determined by the owners.
8. A description of your group (ie. number of males and females and the average age of the people in your group) should be discussed with the owners prior to your arrival.
9. A 2% merchant fee applies to all Visa and MasterCard transactions.   A 3.5% merchant fee applies to all Amex and Diners Card transactions.

Cancellations

1. Cancellations must be made a minimum of six (6) months prior to the commencement of the hire for a refund to be payable.  A cancellation fee of $150 will apply.
2. Refunds of the booking fee for cancellations made between four (4) and six (6) months prior to the commencement of the hire will be made when the same boat has been hired for the same period at the same price.   A cancellation fee of $150 will apply.
3. Cancellations made less than four (4) months prior to the commencement of the hire will result in the forfeit of the booking fee.
4. This cancellation policy is not negotiable therfore hirers are advised to secure seperate travel insurance in order to be reimbursed in the event of a cancellation.
5. Requests to transfer or re-schedule bookings will be considered as a cancellation and the terms as set out in these conditions will apply.

General Conditions

1. All occupants of the vessel are required to read and sign a comprehensive hire agreement prior to departure.  
2. If the group, as described when the houseboat booking was made (ie. number of males and females and the average age of the people in your group), differs from the group on arrival the proprietors reserve the right to nominate an additional security bond to be paid or terminate the hire without reimbursement of hire fees.
3. Occupants under 18 years of age require the signature of a parent or guardian.
4. If more than one third of the occupants on the boat change within a hire period a fee of $100 per new occupant will be charged in addition to the hire fee.
5. Sub-letting of the boat is not permitted
6. Arrivals after 6.00pm may be required to remain at the dock until the following morning.
7. Houseboats are available from 3pm on the first day of hire.
8. The boat must be vacated by 10am on the final day of hire.
9. The houseboat must be returned in good clean condition or an extra cleaning charge will apply.
10. No pets, firearms, trail/ motorbikes or chainsaws are allowed on board the boat.
11. If arriving after 4pm please phone (03) 54 802444 prior to arrival.
12. In the unlikely event of unfavourable river conditions, or any unforeseen circumstances, causing danger to the river craft, the proprietors reserve the right to re-arrange the booking. Every effort will be made to give notice in advance if such circumstances arise.
13. We provide accommodation on a houseboat on the Murray River between Barmah Bridge and Torrumbarry Weir.   We can not be held responsible if activities and/or events can not be undertaken on the Murray River due to unforseen circumstances.
14. We agree to have the boat, motor and accessories in good working order. We will not be obliged to compensate the hirer for loss of time due to unforeseen mechanical problems during the hire period.
15. We can not guarantee uninterupted power supply for medical devices.   If an occupant has a medical device such as a sleep apnea machine you are advised to bring your own back up power supply for the device.
16. The boat may only move during daylight hours between Barmah Bridge and Torrumbarry Weir on the Murray River.
17. Anyone who drives the boat must be over 18 years of age and must hold a full current car drivers licence or boat licence.
18. The number of people on the boat must not exceed the number of berths allowed for under the NSW Maritime Services Board regulations. A child over the age of 12 months is counted as one person.
19. A lock up compound is available for car storage. No responsibility is accepted for cars stored in the compound.

In addition to the standard Conditions of Hire the following conditions are applicable to off peak bookings on our Deluxe Houseboats

1. When a Deluxe Houseboat is booked as a 2 berth houseboat only one bedroom and one bathroom will be available for use.   An extra fee will be charged if more than 2 people board the Deluxe housbeoat at any time throughout the hire period.
2. When a Deluxe Houseboat is booked as a 4 berth houseboat two bedrooms and one bathroom will be available for use.   An extra fee will be charged if more than 4 people board the Deluxe housbeoat at any time throughout the hire period.
3. When a Deluxe Houseboat is booked as a 6 berth houseboat three bedrooms and two bathroom will be available for use.   An extra fee will be charged if more than 6 people board the Deluxe housbeoat at any time throughout the hire period.

In addition to the standard Conditions of Hire the following conditions are applicable to our Ultimate Houseboats

1. A Bond of $1000 is payable on arrival. This bond is in addition to the hire charge and will be refunded less fuel charges within 7 days of the boat being returned in good clean condition.
2. A Bond of $1500 is payable on hires for seven (7) nights or more.
3. Single sex groups are not permitted on our Ultimate Houseboats.
4. Ultimate houseboats will be available from 3pm on the first day of hire.
5. When an Ultimate Houseboat is booked for 8 people one of the bedrooms on board the boat will be unavailable for use.   An extra fee will be charged if more than 8 people board the houseboat at any time throughout the hire period.

In addition to the standard Conditions of Hire the following conditions are applicable to Icon

1. A Bond of $1200 is payable on arrival. This bond is in addition to the hire charge and will be refunded less fuel charges within 7 days of the boat being returned in good clean condition.
2. A Bond of $1800 is payable on hires for seven (7) nights or more.
3. Single sex groups are not permitted on Icon.
4. Icon will be available from 3pm on the first day of hire.
